About us

Few people grow up wanting to sell shoes laces, stretchers, horns and boot care products and we were definitely not in their number. We became specialist footwear accessory suppliers quite by accident.

During the early years of the internet we helped small businesses to sell their products online. We built ecommerce stores for them, showed them how to manage their sites and helped with their online marketing.

In order to hone our skills we decided to create our own online business. We launched The Shoe Lace in 2006 and (somewhat to our surprise) the business went from strength to strength. So much so, that we stopped building websites for other people and focused on our own.

It is difficult to know exactly why we were successful. We had the right skills and the timing was perfect. But what has enabled our business to flourish over the proceeding 17 years is supplying high quality products at reasonable prices, backed up with excellent customer service.

This is something we will never change and why we make it easy for customers to contact us and provide feedback.
