Shoe lace size guide

Shoe lace sizes are a fabulously variable item - the length of a lace is pretty much absolute whereas the length required is infinite! Things to consider when measuring your shoe lace are how far apart the eyelets are and indeed your preferred lacing pattern and how much lace you like to have for tying off.

If you have a whole existing shoe lace then measure it. If you don't have a complete existing shoe lace then get some thread or a piece of string and thread it through (not forgetting to have sufficient to tie off). When happy with the length then cut off the surplus take it out of the shoe and measure it.

There are many different methods and patterns in which a shoe lace can be threaded and these do effect the length of the shoe lace required.

The below information is only a rough guide and will vary from shoe to shoe or boot to boot!

This was a very small order, but I was delighted that it arrived the day after ordering. Very efficient service (I think Fran was the packer?). I have ben trying for ages to get replacement laces for my Meindl walking shoes. The shop I bought them from have let me down. think Meinds don't make the flat laces any longer, and it's been such a struggle to get some to fit through the very tight fabric loops. £125 for a pair of Goretex walking shoes and no replacement laces. I would have like stronger, flat ones, but I chose the very fine ones deliberately to be able to lace them. Brilliant job. Thank you. The laces are fine. Very fine lacews in order to thread through fabric loops on my walking shoes . Not strictly walking-shoe laces, but I believe Meindl no longer make the laces for my very expensive shoes. Ridiculous. Shoe Lace LTD provided an excellent service, so will not go back to Taunton Leisure, where I bought the shoes as they have not been good with after-care

Delivery is fast, but product descriptions lack brand data. Some brands are very good (eg Dasco) and last months, and some snap the first time you tension them (eg Wilko, causing me to punch myself in the face), so this info would be helpful! Although did not recognise the brand, and there were some loose-looking strands, laces have stood up the rough treatment and look set to last.
